Ferns, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Archie Ferns of Fern Valley, and
a sophomore in education a t Ore­
gon State College was recently
chosen “little Colonel’’ at the a n ­
nual m ilitary ball held in the
Memorial Union Ballroom. She
was chosen by popular vote d u r­
ing the dance from among seven
candidates.
An honor guard to escort “little
Colonel” and her staff to stage
were m em bers of the Pershing
Rifle unit.
Miss Ferns is 19 years old and
tranfered from Pacific university
at Forest Grove to O.S.C. this
year. She graduated from Phoe­
nix Hi in 1947.
