Cranberries are firm ly lodged In

food. Before the white m an’s a r­
rival they were valued by Indian
medicine men. Later, New England
sailors standing " watch used to
munch handfuls of raw cranberries
which they grabbed from the bar­

off scurvy, which is caused by
lack of vitam in C. In addition to

some minerals, including Iodine
