of the Lions club held Monday

ed the Phoenix Lions and invit
ed members to the Gold Rush
Jubilee celebration which will be
held in Jacksonvile in Septem
ber.
Phoenix, August 25 — Resi
dence in Phoenix of a tribe of
Romany gypsies is giving the
town m arshall and the city coun

The tribe arrived last week in
five auto trailers and stopped at
the Highway court because of
the illness of two children who
are in a Jackson county hospital.

that as long as they paid their
rent they were as entitled to stay
in the court as any one. Leslie
further pointed out th a t the gyp
sies were Romany gypsies and

ber approxim ately 25, spend the
evenings in dancing to the music
from a guitar and mouth organ.
The men and children do most
of the dancing with the m ajority
of the women standing about
lending encouragement.
