Thürs., July 22, 1948 i NEWS FROM TALENT Talent Ladies Plan Cooked Food Sale Talent Has Minor Wave of Crime Talent, Ju ly 23 — A cooked food sale w ith the proceeds sla t ed to go into the larder of the T alent school cafeteria will be held this Saturday in Talent. Several of the local ladies are helping with the affair and they request that donations be brought to the sale. The sale will begin at 10:00 a. m. Lids and sugar will be bought w ith the profits from the sale. The lids and sugar will then be used in canning fruit for the cafeteria. Talent, July 23 — A wave of robberies and attem pted store burglaries has been taking place in Talent this past week. T hurs day night someone looted the Talent Service station of two tires and Saturday night the back door and side window of the Talent Club was jimmied in an unsuccessful attem pt to gain entrance. Mr. and Mi's. Clarence Cooper are making an extended trip to visit relatives in North Dakota. They plan to retu rn about the first of Septem ber. Mrs. Odessa Myers is moving to her new home on I street.
