Many Local Republicans Riding
On The Horns of A Huge Dilemma
V
Some of the local Republicans are on the horns of a dilemma for
jure. The boys who control the vote in Jackson county are having a
•ernble time, they are wondering if by supporting Doug McKay for
jovernor they won't hurt Earl Newbryys chances as secretary of
date. Just what they can do without doing the wrong thing has
kept many of them awake nights.
Writing in the Medford News, Moore Hamilton, pointed out that
sentiment around here seems to be running to McKay for governor
but many political leaders in the
republican party feel that to sup
port McKay for governor is not
going to do Newbry any good,
and the Jackson county republi
cans don’t want to appear to be
