Every possible effort should be made to protect the businesses which have established
themselves on main highways to the end the changes of highways will injure as few'
persons as possible.

Advertising our good roads and tourist attractions should be intensified to encourage
tourists to prolong their travels in Oregon.

He favors raising the personal exemption on income taxes for both single and married
persons and those with dependents.

Mr. Bengtson is not satisfied with the present arrangement whereby aged dependents
are supported by funds from the Liquor Control Commission and will seek legislation
for appropriations from the general fund.
