Barries, who graduated from
Phoenix High school In 1938, a t­
tended Southern Oregon College
and received his Bachelor’s De­
gree from the University of O re­
gon.
He served four years with the
U. S. Navy during World War II
and left active service in Dec­
ember 1945 with the rank of
Lieutenant, Senior Grade. Upon
returning to Southern Oregon he
taught in the high schools of
Eagle Point and Bonanza.
Barnes will return to service
with his form er rank and antici­
pates further schooling at Del
Monte, California.
