He further estim ated th at it would require an average of $3000 per game for the athletic program to be a profitable e n te r­ prise. Last years average income In home games was slightly over $2000 per game and ultim ately not enough to handle the years o u t- ! lay of $37,000 for equipm ent and operating expenses. Dr Stevenson explained though, that it was not entirely for fin­ ancial reasons that Southern O re­ gon College would play only a few home games this year. He stated that the college belongs to Southern Oregon and th at an effort to distribute games among the towns of southern Oregon was made to extend and broaden interest in the school. This m eth­ od he explained, was one of the school’s best advertisem ents.
