Sir, you err m ost definitely, completely, and absolutely. That my nam e should be associated w ith such a theory covers my tace w ith a hot blush of shame. It you have no regard lor my own feelings—think ol my dear ola m other—or my little sons, im agine their em barrassm ent at having their son and father re spectively, held up publicly as a m em ber of the hall-baked clique tnat blatantly assumes the han- loop banner; That, sir, closely apr preaches libel, and i ve hall a mind to sue. My thesis is directly opposed to tn at ol the hall-loop. 1, sir, am an exponent of the halt-roll school. To a Hy alighting on tne ceiling, the hail-roll m aneuver is the only logical, probable, ethical, sensible, POSSIBLE, m aneuver. Aside from the purely mecn- anical aspect ol the thing, which alm ost relutes all possibility ot the half-loop, w hat possible in tellectual consideration would the ily have in completing a dif ficult acrobatic teat, only to find lie had reversed his line of llight? A half-roll allows the fly plenty of tim e—while in inverted flight —to lower landing gear and com pute angle of inclination and con dition of field. The half-loop m akes no allow ance for this. If I had the space I could write volum es on the ridiculous p re mise of the half-loop school, con founding its m em bers completely.
