Letters to the Editor
A Letter To The Editor.
FOR SAFE, PLEASANT STS.
A citizen ol Ashland who
would rath er rem ain in the back
ground, asks this question:
How big, noisy, dirty, and dan
gerous do trucks have to become
before the proper steps are taken
to reroute heavy truck traffic
away from the m ain street in
ASHLAND?
There m ust be a limit, that h a s '
long since been reached. Or do
we have to put up w ith this I
nuisance until there is a tragic
accident? and then have our eyes
opened too late.
Siskiyou Boulevard, a beauti
ful street of beautiful homes is
alm ost untenable, and the cross
ings positively dangerous due to
heavy truck traffic. The grade
schools, both high schools, and
the college are subject to this
nuisance as well.
Church services have to be
conducted in com petition with
the exhaust blasts from Diesel
Engines.
Hospitals, business houses, Of
fices, schools, Churches, homes,
all have to “grin and bear it”.
H asn’t Aehland outgrow n the one
road tow n’’ stage? M ight have
been all right in the old wagon
days. Not now tho’.
- Preston B. W aterbury.
