who run them have plenty of help

learn th at the “farm er” doesn’t
own his land, or even farm it, in
our sense. He takes orders f 1 om the
s ta te ; produces w h a te v er they
want him to produce, at prices they
sot. Even his off-hours are spent
according to state regulations.
No, that would naver go here.
W e're willing to work haul, hot we
like to farm the land our own way,
put our own value on the crops,
and relax as we like —if only with
a temperate, companionable glass
of beer.
From w here I s it, collective
farm ing may produce results. But
the American way — freedom to
work and relax as we see fit— is
what makes this country a great
