WESTERN THRIFT STORE 30 NORTH CENTRAL PHONE MEDFORD 3874 “See lo u r Electrical Contractor” Was reatiiiifc the other dxv about the “collective” farms they have in certain countries. It seems the folks who run them have plenty of help . . . good hours . . . and the lies! equipment. Sounds pretty nice — till you learn th at the “farm er” doesn’t own his land, or even farm it, in our sense. He takes orders f 1 om the s ta te ; produces w h a te v er they want him to produce, at prices they sot. Even his off-hours are spent according to state regulations. No, that would naver go here. W e're willing to work haul, hot we like to farm the land our own way, put our own value on the crops, and relax as we like —if only with a temperate, companionable glass of beer. From w here I s it, collective farm ing may produce results. But the American way — freedom to work and relax as we see fit— is what makes this country a great place tr live. So let’s not change it!
