Southern Oregon News Review, Thursday, May 22, 1947 HOUSEHOLD M SM if Woman's World Crisp While Blouses Help Keep You Cool in Sultry Weather H EN the firs t w a rm days a r rive , most of us find ourselves w ith o u t a n yth in g re a lly d e lig h tfu lly cool to put on, and consequently we go on a m ad buying spree to tr y to bent the heat. How m uch b e tte r it Is to s ta rt now before the sw e lte r ing days re a lly catch up w ith us, and plan a sensible w ardrobe fo r the hot days. One of the best ways o f dealing w ith the heat is to have lig h t-w e ig h t suits and sk irts w ith w hich to w ear cool organdie or batiste blouses, made fro s ty looking w ith c ris p lace o r em broidered osgandie. You can plan to have several of these on hand so that there w ill alw ays be one fre sh ly laundered ready to put on at a m om ent's notice. Now th a t organdie and oth e r lig h t- w eignt m a te ria ls are back on the m a rk e t, it's a sim ple m a tte r to plan to do yo u r own sewing on them and have several blouses fo r the p rice o f one. P atterns and laces are a v a ila b le again in gre a t v a rie ty , so there's a blouse fo r e ve ry figure and every purse—i f you m ake yo u r own. I f you have only one su it w hich you w ant to w ear w ith several blouses, do select styles o f blouses th a t are becoming w ith the neckline of the suit. Or. if you have sep a rate s k irts w ith w hich you w ant blouses, then do select blouses styles th a t are e x tre m e ly becom ing to you.
