SOC auditorium , are all com m unity centers, as a re th e re ­ creation and m eeting room s of th e various churches. A com m unity cen ter type recreational program is be­ ing offered each M onday night at SOC gym nasium . A YMCA basketball league is reaching th e children of several churches. A city bowling league o ffers oppor­ tu n ity for recreation and exercise to businessm en. S k atin g a t the arm o ry helps keep th e c h il’ren off the stre ets. And physical education in stru ctio n is available to tw o d ifferen t groups of boys. The Camp fire girls have ju s t been given a cam p site, which can be th e ir com m unity center, and the YMCA is ta k in g over the Pioneer hall as th e ir com m unity center. Seems to us th a t th e th in g which is needed is a stro n g coordinating fac to r to prevent duplication of p ro jects and com plete utilization of ex istin g facilities ra th e r th an th e construction of a n o th er w hite elephant building which will be used once each tw o w eeks and will sit idle fo r 13 days and nights.
