Cleanses Clothes
Soak clothes In cool or lukewarm
water rather than cold water, for
cold water may cause the fabric
mesh to close and hold the dirt.
Sweet Potatoes
Sweet potatoes are easily dam
aged at harvest time and are prob
ably the most sensitive of all stored
vegetables to storage conditions.
Chicken Diet
Investigations in a number of dif
ferent laboratories have revealed
that the growing chicken needs 13
different vitamins including vita
mins A, D, E and K, thiamin, ribo
flavin, pantothenic acid, nicotinic
acid, pyridoxin, biotin, choline, in
ositol and folic acid. All of these
vitamins can be supplied as crys
talline compounds, and chickens
grow normally when fed such a com
bination of pure vitamins in con
junction with a suitable combina
tion of purified carbohydrate, pro
tein, fat and mineral salts.
The controller is an important
part of the electric fence since it is
the device to regulate the flow of
electricity through the fence. Its
purpose is to curb the steady flow
of current and send it through the
fence at intervals. The device per
mits just enough current to go
through the fence wire to shock
animals without doing them harm.
Fence controllers must be factory
built, according to rural electri
fication specialists of the depart
ment of agriculture. They must also
be approved by power suppliers.
