The program would be sustained by a one-tim e community drive, which is the same as that suggested by C ity Councilman, John Nosier, last fall. This would do away w ith the countless drives w hich now be set the citizens of the city. The plan as suggested by Nosier, would be partially self-sustaining. This would work in well with the program which Bishop has in mind. Bishop, who has been appointed head of the Chamber of Commerce s recreational committee, seems to have found a solution to the recreat ional problem, which is facing every American city. If the various groups in the city will get behind the plan which has been prepared by Bishop and will work together for the complete and greatest good of the entire com m unity, and will overlook small d iffe r ences of opinion, caste, and creed, Ashland will have a recreational program which will meet the needs of every youngster in the city from sif to sixty. And for those below six there will be nursery schools. One of the advantages of living in Ashland which the Chamber of Commerce in Ashland is stressing concerns the recreational possibili ties which this area has. People in Ashland can live a full life if they will get together and develop those recreational possibilities.
