Listen to the
City Elections
So far none of the candidates for the seats or the reseating on the
city council have made any statem ent as to their policies or their
programs. It is aboue time for the seven candidates to make seven
statem ents as to why they are running, what they stand for in city
governmental circles, and their beliefs, and plans, for future city
governmental affairs.
U ntil these statem ents are forthcom ing there can be but few de
cisions made by the voters as to just whom they will support in the
city elections which will soon be here.

School Days
Back to school this week went the grade, junior high, and high
school students; next week the college will begin operations. W ith
this first week of school the city seemed to take on a bit more life,
in the early mornings and in the evening and at noontime there is
more activity on the city streets than we have seen all summer.
Youngsters filled with enthusiasm, and dressed in myriad colors
parade back and forth to school. I t ’s a pleasant parade to watch. Al
most makes us wish we had our school days ahead of us, instead of
behind.
