King Blizzard
Because of the terrific gales and
high drifts associated with it, the
blizzard of 1888 has always been
considered the “ king” of blizzards.
Snow reached a depth of three feet
or more in Atlantic coast states and
New England and was drifted by
gales of wind for several days into
drifts 5. 10 and 20 feet high.
