Donnell Edwin Koenig was fined $2.00 and costs on a failure to stop charge. Wes ley William Gif fen and Theodore LeRay Osborn were each fined $25.00 and costs after pleading guilty to the charge of having un lawful possession of Jeer meat. Gloria Wanda Bounds, paid $1.00 and costs for failure to stop and Kenneth Howe forfieted $5.00 by failing to appear in court after being charged with not having an operator's license. C. E. Barron of Los Angeles, a form er resident of Ashland, was visiting and transacting business here this week. Chief of Police Talent has been on the sick list the past week, and unable to appear at his office. The Ashland Extension Unit is asking for contributions of m ater ial. money and labor in their job of making comforters for ship m ent to the w ar torn areas Mem bers of the Unit are working in the basem ent at the Library and have already made several com forters. Their goal is to provide 15 by the end of this month.
