w ith the Lebunon high school. In ­
tensive p ractice has been u n d e r­
way the past th ree weeks, Coach
O ’Neil said and his strin g of p la y ­
ers are w orking dow n in fine
shape, to m ake a p re tty fair team .

Much in terest has been ev id en ­
ced in the com ing gam es, and
p artic u la rly those th ree special
ones du rin g the C hristm as vaca­
tion w hen Longview , W ashington,
M arshfield and A lbany, Oregon
w ill each play a gam e here for
a special series, w hich are being
backed by the business m ens o r­
ganizations of the town. To help
finance these three gam e tickets
have been placed on sale. In as­
m uch as these several gam es ure
sponsored by local organizations,
a larg e tu rn o u t is expected. "The
schedule is considered one of the
best in several y ears,” was Coach
O ’N eil’ com m ent.
The schedule announced by Mr.
O ’Neil this w eek is about com ­
plete, except for four open dates,
w hich m ay be filled in later. First
gam e of the series will be w ith
L ebanon on D ecem ber 7 and on
the follow ing night a gam e will
be held a t A lbany. F irst hom e
gam e w ill be with Y reka here on
D ecem ber 11. N ext gam e is a te n ­
tativ e d ate w ith c ith e r Coquille
o r C ottage G rave there on Dec­
em b er 14, w ith a gam e w ith Rose­
burg on D ecem ber 15 a t R oseburg
On December 18, the boys w ill go
to D unsm uir and on D ecem ber
22 D unsm uir will re tu rn the play
here. D uring th e C hristm as vaca
tion, the th ree special gam es are
scheduled in a th ree day series,
w ith Longview, M arshfield and
A lbany on D ecem ber 27, 28, and
29.

Coach O’Neil stated th at each

m ans for ten rnon'hs. He was a
p ilot of a B -17 He told of his e x ­
periences in the G erm an prison
cam p on the B altic sea and told
of the G estapo sadistic beatings
he u n d erw en t in th eir quests for
inform ation.

o’clock. A good deal of w ork has
been put on this production and a
large crowd is anticipated.
The drive for stu d en t body tick ­
ets has been n early com pleted
w ith the senior class in the lead.
The juniors are second and the
sophom ores losing the race so far.
T he losing class will give a p arty
for the o th er classes Dec. 7. No
one w ants to see his class lose, so
everyone is buying tickets. Many
stu d en t clubs and organizations
