Foster, 28 year old soldier from Ashland, Oregon was releas ed from the service with the United States Army Air Forces today at the Drew Field Separa tion Station. Sgt. Foster is the son of Mr. und Mrs. Tom D. Foster, of Ash land, Oregon. Prior to his enter ing the service in August, 1941 he was employed by the Gardner Lumber Co. Gardner, Ore. In October, 1943 he was sent overseas with the 358 Fighter Group in the European Theater of Operations where he remained until his return to the United States in December 1943. His wife ,Mrs. Foster lives at Ash- lund, Oregon. Services Held for Archie Calvert Mon. Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 8 at the Litwiller Funeral Chapel for Archie Cal vert, who died Thursday at the Community Hospital. The Rev. George Shuman officiated. Inter ment was made in the Mountain View cemetery. Mr. Calvert was born January 28, 1898 in Kansas. He came to Ashland in 1914 and had been employed as a timberman, work ing as faller for the Daly Mills at Dead Indian. Surviving are his wife, an aunt Mrs. W. S. Weaver of San Fran cisco and two uncles George and Overton Johnson of Redwood City, California. ISO North Main Street “A Friendly church for thought ful People.” Rev.
