Elks Planning For
Annual Stag Party
An Aoriol Gunner Train» for Duty in the Skie»/
Early Christinas
Mailing Urged by PO
This is the time of the year
that we are starting to think
about Christmas packages and
how soon it will be necessary to
mail them to be sure that they
arrive at their destination on
time.
During the past year the Post-
office department has lost appro
ximately 55,000 men to the armed
forces ,and as all these men have
to be replaced by help that is in
experienced, it is only natural
that it will take longer to move
the Christmas mail.
The postmaster general has set
December 1st as the dead line for
mailing Christmas packages to
insure delivery on time. Let us
make this a happy Christmas by
being sure that packages arrive
on time.
... MAIL EARLY and AVOID the
CRUSH.
Big plans are being made for
the annual Elks Club smokey and
stag party, to be held this Satur
day at the Elks Temple. As usual
there will be a floor show, games
of skill and chance, a banquet,
etc This is the annual affair to
raise funds for the Elk’s Christ
inas fund, to furnish baskets of
iocd, etc. for the heedy families
oi this community. Elks secretary
Sid Heed announced that some 90
turkeys, numerous hams, e t c
have already been purchased for
the event, part of them being
used to be raffled off Saturday
night
The annual event is limited to
Elks members and their invited
guests and is an event long look
ed forward to in Elk’s events.
