ence and the social studies. The
school day will be from nine to
twelve.

school offers a real opportunity
for both p aren ts and children in
Ashland. M any activ ities and ex­
periences of in tere st and value
are m ade available to ooys and
girls w ithout cost to the com m uni­
ty. While the p rogram offered
will prevent f o r g e t t i n g and
stren g th en the child’s abilities, it
is not reasonable to expect a child
to acquire a g re a t am ount of
subject m atter in five weeks.
Much of the w ork is recreational
in ch aracter, but all th e activities
fostered a t Lincoln School, w heth­
er designated as play or w ork, are
of real educational value.

which will celebrate the 50th an ­
niversary of its g rad u atio n from
the Oregon College of Education,
M onmouth, Oregon, on May 26,

will be held for the class of 1944.
A t th e tim e of his g rad u atio n
the college was known as the
Oregon S ta te N orm al School and
Dr. T ilton’s class w as th e second
to be g rad u ated from the in sti­
tution a fte r it w as tak en over by
the s ta te and given s ta te su p ­
port. Previous to this it had been
known as C hristian College and
Monmouth U niversity and had
been founded in 1856.
