Death by Hacking
hi lb. fresh pork, diced
1 tablespoon Crisco
1 cup chopped apple
Sear pork in hot Crisco Mix with
chopped apple. Season with salt
and pepper. Roll out Crisco pastry,
cut into four inch squares. Place
heaping tableipoonful pork and
apple mixture in center. Fold over
to form triangles and press edges
firmly together. Bake,in hot oven.
Serve hot with gravy or cream
sauce.
APPLE CRISP
/ quart sliced apples
14 cup water
114 teaspoons cinnamon
\ cup sugar
Mi cup flour
% cup margarine
Place the sliced apples in a shal­
low baking dish. Add the water
and 1 teaspoon
of cinnamon.
Blond together the sugar, flour
and margarine until crumbly in
texture. Spread this mixture over
the top of apples. Sprinkle with
the remaining cinnamon. Bake un­
covered in a moderately hot oven
(400'F.) 40 to 50 minutes, or un­
til the apples are tender and the
top is brown.
