Bernard J. Lotka, 23, of Med­
ford, convicted of smothering 1 i;
infant »on to death, is appealing
to the Governor for a pardon.
Lotka and his common-law wife
Tillie Michalski, were indicted for
the baby's death. Miss Michalski
was acquitted. Ixttka, then a ser­
geant at Camp White, was found
guiltv of second degree murder.
He is serving a life sentence at
