DOLLARS can be cold and sblfish things. Or they
can be generous, compassionate and merciful.
TUrn over the spending of some of your dollars to
your heart. It will want to give twice what your
logical mind intended to give, because your heart
understands the mercy, the relief and the pleasure
that these dollars bring.
Let your heart decide.

Under the pay-as-you-go pro

who receive as much ax $100 in
come from sources on which there
is no withholding must submit a
declaration provided their total
income from all sources exceeds
$500 for single persons and $624

This Chinese baby didn’t have much, but yesterday
it did have a straw shelter, a crude cradle and two
rarents to care for it. A screaming Japanese bomb
destroyed them all. Your dollars can bring this baby
back to a useful life in the new China to come.

Remember this soldier? You saw him on the USO
posters last year. His smile comes straight from
a USO clubhouse. One of the finest things
civilians have done in this war is in building
/j
and supporting the USO. Boys come into
m
the army from farms and citics-a little
lonely—a little homesick. The USO pro-
vidcs friendship, entertainment and
hominess. Some of your dollars are
