of <4old HUI, the present world
junior heavyweight champion, at
Medford on May 1. Both Belcas-

on Kennaston Just for practice
when the ex-marine was learning
the game but he has now become
a finisher] grappler and has met
with excellent success in his tour
of the midrile west and south since
winning his title from Dude Chick
Smolinski and Belcantro are anx

Kennaston that they can still beat
him so their bout should be full

Water Supplies Vary
For State This Year
Irrigation farmers of Oregon
who depend upon water stored in
reservoirs have little to worry
about this year so far as irriga
tion supplies are concerned, but
those who obtain their water di
rect from streams will have a
short irrigation season In most
sections of the state unless un
usually heavy precipitation occurs
during the late spring and sum
mer
Such in general is the water
forecast for the state of Oregon
recently arrived at through a ser
ies of six mer-tings throughout the
worker« and always provide thrill»
wherever they appear.
The opener has a newcomer to
Oregon in the person of Harry
Cooper of Tennessee. Cooper, who
is 25 years old, weighs 190 pounds
and is a clean and scientific
wrestler.
For several weeks he
has been working in southern Cali
fornia where he is highly regarded.
He meets Vem Clark, the Mich
igan boy who tamed Smolinski in
a previous bout at Medford.

superintendent of the Medford
branch experiment station and
head of the federal-state snow sur
vey and irrigation water forecast
ser vice in Oregon.
This is the fourth consecutive
year that these district meetings
have been held where representa

gathered to compare data and ar

stream flow prospects
Snow surveys this season show

still showed a water content in
some instances up to last year’s
unusually favorable supplies, and
in most cases up to average.
