under the seal of the Circuit Court
of the biate of Oregon, in and for
the County of Jackson, to me di­
rected and dated on the 29th day
of January, 1936, in a certain suit
therein, wherein 'rhe State of Ore­
gon, represented and acting by the
World War Veterans' State Aid
Commission, as Plaintiff, recov-
| ered judgment against Alden D.
Powell and Irene C. Powell, his
wife, the Ix*fendants, for the sum
of $2279 74. with interest th<
at the rate of four per cent per
annum from May 12, 1933, the ,
further sum of $12.50 Abstract I
fees, with costs and disbursements
taxed at $18.80 and the further
sum of $150.00 as attorney’s fees,
which judgment was enrolled and
docketed in the Clerk's office of
said Court in said County on the
29th day of January, 1936.
Notice is hereby given that, pur­
suant to the terms of the said ex­
ecution, 1 will on the 29th day of
February, 1936, at 10:00 o'clock
a.m., at the front door of the
Courthouse in the City of Med­
ford, in Jackson County, Oregon,
offer for sale and will sell at pub­
lic auction for cash to the highest
bidder, to satisfy said judgment,
together with the costs of this sale,
subject to redemption as provided
by law. all of the right, title and
interest that the defendants in said
suit, Alden D. Powell and Irene C.
Powell, his wife; and Pierce-Alien
Motor Co., Inc., an Oregon corpor­
ation, had on the 6th day of Octo­
ber, 1922. or now have in and to
the following described property,
situated in the County of Jackson,
State of Oregon, to-wit:
All of Lots five (5) and six (6),
Block "I" Railroad Addition to
Ashland, Jackson County, Ore­
gon
Dated this 29th day of January.

Mr. Earl Birdsall of Roxy Ann
spent the week end in the valley.
Mrs. George Thurston entertain­
ed a number of her friends at her
home last Friday evening. The eve­
ning was spent in playing games.
Everyone had a wery pleasant
time. After the games, lovely re­
freshments were served.
Many of the residents of this
community were present at the
organization of a Townsend club
at Talent.
Mr. J. D. Keeney,
who was
recently hit by an automobile while
riding his bycycle to Ashland, has
just returned from the hospital
to his home, much improved.
Mrs. J. D. Keeney, Mrs. O. K
McCurtain, Mrs. Geo. Thurston and
Miss Dorothy Dodge went picnic-
ing at the Forks, Sunday, and re­
ported a very pleasant afternoon.
Mrs. Grant Bo/er and son Wes­
ley, of Ashland, visited at the home
Mr. Pierce Wilson, on Bear Creek,
Tuesday.
Mr. O. K. McCurtain called on
Mr. J. D. Keeney Wednesday.
- Mrs. Emma Arney, who was
planning to move to Los Angeles,
has been delayed due to legal mat­
ters.
Mrs. J. D. Keeney. Mrs. O. K. Mc­
Curtain and Mrs. Geo. Thurston
were in town Tuesday on business.
Mr. Edgar Smith has recently
purchased a Chevvrolet sedan.
- Miss Dorothy Dodge was in Ash­
land Wednesday on business.
- Miss Joyce Morgan has been
quite ill at her home near Hyde
Park.
