• George Wendt, who thrust his
fingers into a feed chopper last
week, has been recovering with
safety and some greater degree of
comfort, but still is minus the more
useful part of two fingers on his
left hand. The digits received a
painful and disastrous whack when
he attempted to extricate a clog of
feed from the power chopper. One
finger was severed at the first
joint, while another was amputated
at the second joint by Dr. Sweeney
of Medford. George asserted this
week that he misses the antici
pated rest and finds that it merely
takes him more time to do less
work now when one arm is dressed
up like his milk truck, and com-
hide recovery is hoped for within
a few weeks. Bob Metzger has been
pinch-hitting in the dairyman’s
place since the accident.
