(Delilia Stevens Meyer, present incumbent, was first elected as
county clerk in 1925 and it will be noted that from that year on expenses
were steadily reduced despite increased business and revenues till, at
the close of 1931, fees collected during the seven years were greater
by over $10,000 than expenses involved. On the other hand, totals for
the six years previous to 1925 show expenses to have been greater than
fees collected.)
