OAKLAND, June 80. Zoe Pepa, a
yowng metber, who resides In East Oak'
land, has been committed, to an asylum
by JXadge Ogden. The young woman has
become -violent baoauae of jealousy. So
strongly haa the melancholia seised . tha
young, woman that she seised her hus
band's 4-year-old son and beat his head"
upon the floor until the little lad was well
nigh unconscious and so bady frightened
that he could hardly walk, and la still
suffering from the shock
Mrs. Pepe, according to the story told
tha court by her huaband, haa always
bean ot an extremely jealous nature.
She refused to allow him to speak to his
relatlresy and If aha aaw him In con
versatlon with a man and did not know
what they were talking about would fly
into a violent passipn.
Tha husband appeared to be very much
cast down because of tha misfortune. Us
said ha believed aha ahould be confined
for tha protection ot their child.
