Thieves broke Into the grocery store of
C. W.' Saunders, at' First and Sheridan
streets, between t and 11 p. m. last night
and stole 240, which had been secreted
in a tin can underneath the proprietor's
bed. Nothing else was disturbed. An
entrance to the store was effected through
a transom at the rear; of. the building,
in the full glare of an arc light dur
ing th absenc of Mr. Saunders. ' It
Is thought that some person familiar
with the premises committed the . rob
bery. Tne case ' has been put into the;
bands of the police authorities. ' '
