It has been decided by the Oregon Hop
growers' Association ' to pool their hops
again the coming season, the -satisfactory
ending of the last season's orop being
the cause. It has not as yet been de
elded by the association as to whether
this year's crop will be shipped, abroad
or not. :

to contract the present year's suppjy at
IS cents a pound, the offer being refused
because the officers of the association

sociation, has Just returned to his home
In Salem after an extensive tour of the
hopftelds of the state. He says that he
estimates that the crop this year In
the state would not amount to more than
85,000 bales, although, as he says. It Is
yet too early to make much of an es
timate on the growing crop.
He says that during bis tour, of in
spection that he found a large number
of vines being- missing from the hills.
Mr. Wlnstanley Is opposed to the action
of a large number of the growers of the
state In contracting their crops at 12
to IS cents. He says that it is like
losing money.

The steamer Regulator brought down
200 sacks of wool from The Dalles this
morning to be shipped from here on the

hama last night at Victoria, B. C, for
