aminations at the United States Mil
itary Academy were commenced today.
Heretofore It has been the custom to be
gin the examination June 1, but a de
parture from the rule was decided upon
for this year for the reason that the cen
tennial anniversary of the establishment
of the academy Is to be celebrated a
week hence, when a large number of
graduates of the institution and distin
guished visitors will be present to par
ticipate m the ceremonies.

Eagle, wife of Stephen S. Eagle. Assist
ant Superintendent of the Pressed Steel
Car Company's plant at Woods Run, was
formally charged with the murder of
Edna Gertrude Varner, tba 13-year-old
Petrolia girl, whose, body was found in
the hallway of tha Eagle home in Avelon
on tha morning of May 6 with a bullet
hole near her heart. Mrs. Eagle declares
she la Innocent and wilt welcome full In

and was willing to part with soma of his
