ORO KINO, Idaho, May 13.-L.ylng In
the hotel here are tha bodies of D. F. J.
Leadbrooke and Miss Winnie Booth of
Moscow, Idaho, who have paid with their
lives the crime of loving not wisely but
too well. Leadbrooke was a wealthy
married man, and had once been a 'min
ister. The girl was the daughter of the
Rev. G. M. Booth of the Moscow Meth
odist Church, and the revelation that a
criminal intimacy had existed between
the dead parties caused great excitement
in their home town. ,
The circumstance of their not appear
ing to their meals" aroused the suspicion
of the hotel proprietor, and when the
door of their room was broken In at
noon yesterday both were found on the
bed, the girl dead and her lover at his
last gasp. ( They had taken hypodermic
Injections of morphine.
The self-destruction had evidently been
deliberately planned, for several letters
to -friends were left, declaring that, as
they could not live together except in
adultery.4 they had preferred to die and
end their troubles. One letter to the
girl's father contained 1200 to be applied
on their burial expenses.

Explosions Deal

(ScrloDS-McRae News, Association.)
PITTSBURG, May. 13.-Late last even
ing the yards of the panhandle Railroad
at Bherfdan was tha scene of ope of the
most awful catastrophes which has ever
occurred In this state. In making up a
train four cars of hapiha and petroleum
were shunted with too great force. One
of the tanks of naptha was burst, and
the dripping fluid escaping, caught fire
from a signal lampr instantly resulting
in a fearful explosion. Showers of flame
were sent over the freight station near
at hand and ear of lumber and 'other
inflammable materials werer a blase in a
few moments. ; :
In 10 minutes tha; hills surrounding the
yards were covered with people eager to
watch the conflagration, Snd then the
two other care of petroleum exploded
with a terriflo report,- which was heard
In Pittsburg, five miles away. This Was
followed by a muffled roar from the di
rection of the Ohio river. The flaming
oil had run through a sewer and, ex
ploding when it reached the open air,
had blown to atoms the Sumpter Hotel
and the Collins House, on River road,
and badly wrecked, a frame building near
ey, in which sregated 200 .eM
more men from Pittsburg and vicinity,
betting on the races and ball games. Few
of the occupants of the building escaped
injury, many being i badly hurt. Mrs.
Seymour and her daughter, of the Sheri
dan Hotel, were aeriously and, it is. fear
ed, fatally injured.
DEADLY FOURTH EXPLOSION.
The third explosion served" as a warning
to but few of the spectator at Sheridan,
Without a moment's sjrarnlng there was
an awful roar. kud enough to be heard
in the hear of Pittsburg, five .miles
away, and a sheet of flames shot up
from the wreckage and enveloped both
hillsides, even to their tops.
There was a moment's lull, as though
every living thing in the vicinity had
been annihilated. -And then came the
cries and screaming for help, and the
blanks in the crowd told of the explos
ion's dread result. . Beth. ,of the two, re
maining tank ears bad blown up. A. Jar
rent of flames belcheetlorth on each side
ot the track, sweeping back the terrified
spectators like a charge of artillery.
The scene that followed Is beyond de
scription. The successive explosions had
heated the air to such an extent that be
fore; the third explosion many were ren
dered unconscious by the extreme heat
POLICE AT SEA
Murderer Williams Not Yet
Captured.
While there is absolutely no doubt as
to who killed "Cockney" George Hicks,
the police have no clue whatever to the
whereabouts of the murderer. All trace
of him has been lost since he called at a
North End cigar store, three hours after
the crime, to inquire about the time of
outgoing trains.
The entire detective force Is working
on the case. Every outgoing train and
boat is carefully watched and a system
atlc search of the Norm End lodging-
houses Is being made.
It is not thought that Williams has
succeeded In leaving town, as yet, but
that he Is being harbored by some
friend. However, In case the murderer
has succeeded In getting out of the olty,
it is hardly likely that he can get very
far, as every station through which he
might pass Is being -watched by- officers,
who have a full description of him, fur
nished by the lo al police.
The Coroner held an Inquest over the
