coronation. He states that he has no pri
vate fortune from which to draw and

can afford. This brings to the fore 'the
fact that officers in both branches of the
-American military arm are frequently
placed in embarasstng poaltlona because
of a halting policy which has been pur-
' sued at Washington. Other countries
permit "extra, expense" accounts for
: army and, navy men who are detailed on
! special missions, ' but Uncle - Sam make
no such provision. This is wrong. Either
the practice of creating such special mis
sion should, b discontinued or adequate
mt&ne should be provided for the proper
maintenance of those who are selected
to , take, th positions. .
