The new maible alter in the
convent chapel of St Mary’s of the
Valley was consecrated with the
greatest solemnity, December 3.
The Revei end Arthui Sullivan, as­
sisted by the Reverend Father Em­
met Harrington, Edward Zenner,
and Francis Kenard, conducted the
impressive ritual of consecration
A relic of St Peter, the Apostle,
was deposited In the sepulchre of
the altar, after which function a
Solemn High Mass was offered.
The student liody participated in
the singing.
DESSERT LUNCHEON
In anticipation of the feast of
the Immaculate Conception, the
sodalists enjoyed a dessert lunch­
eon, December 7. The hall and
place of honor given the statue of
Our Lady were beautifully dec­
orated with winter greens.
Donna McCoy, sodality prefect,
greeted the guests, after which
brief talks relative to the occasion
were given by JaneRigert and
Lawdean Lamberger. introduced hy
Rosalie Wilson.
The Reverend J. T. G r i f f i n ,
C.S.P., high school religion instruc­
tor, was guest speaker, who took
for his theme, "Marian Devotion
Past and Present." The pleasant
hour closed with the singing of
"Mother Beloved.”
