children spent last Sunday at the
beach. The w eather was warm and
clear.
At T a ft they w atched tw o tugs
! loose a barge w hile trying to enter
Siletz Bay. One tug’s engine failed
when its oil system fouled. The
hawser rope snapped from the sec­
ond tug, leaving the barge free.
