quet tendered the Beaverton high
school grid squad by the junior
chamber of commerce, Septem­
ber 26, in the Old Heidelberg res­
taurant.
Featured speakers were Rudy
Lachenmeier, of KGW, and John
ny Carpenter, Associatel Oil sports
broadcaster. Also responsible for
pertinent remarks was head coach
Gene Freese, o f the high school
who personally introduced every
player on the squad.
Lachenmeier explained the set
up of his Northwest Sports re­
port feature, heard nightly. Car­
penter went further afield and
gave highlights of football games
and personalities.
He lists the probable finish of
the Pacific Coast Conference (as
he sees it) to be: Southern Cal­
ifornia,
Stanford, University of
Oregon, UCLA, WSC, OSC, U. of
Washington,
U. of Idaho and
Montana.
