grade, were responsible
for a
program on Citizenship and Dem
ocracy "which they presented to
Parent Teacher members at a
regular meeting Thursday after
noon, March 2T, at the school
house.
Presiding was the student coun
cil president. Melvin Henson. The
group explained their part in car
rying out a democratic
school
program, giving examples of their
everyday practices of citizenship.
Songs by upper grade students,
as well . as by the 2nd, 3sd. and
4th graders offered further en
tertainment.

were played by Gary Pearson.
Election of officers was held
during the business meeting with
Mrs. Arthur R. Pearson being re

as president
and Mrs.
Ross Bruce as treasurer. Newly
elected was Mrs. V. C. Miner,

and Mrs. C. V.
Jackson, secretary. Room count
was won by the seventh V and
eighth grade room.
