Presiding was the student coun cil president. Melvin Henson. The group explained their part in car rying out a democratic school program, giving examples of their everyday practices of citizenship. Songs by upper grade students, as well . as by the 2nd, 3sd. and 4th graders offered further en tertainment. Piano solos, ‘‘Toy Soldiers on Parade” and "Flying” were played by Gary Pearson. Election of officers was held during the business meeting with Mrs. Arthur R. Pearson being re elected as president and Mrs. Ross Bruce as treasurer. Newly elected was Mrs. V. C. Miner, vice president and Mrs. C. V. Jackson, secretary. Room count was won by the seventh V and eighth grade room. Delegates to the State Conven tion at Eugene April 26, 27 and 28 in addition to the president were named as follows: Mrs. F. \V. Merewether, Mrs. L. S. A special ceremony of presenta tion of American Flags was led by Mrs. William Goerz, president of the Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars No. 81 “Over the Top Post”. Mrs. Mary Mast in, Americanization chairman and Mrs. Agnes Kline, patriotic in structor in turn presented a flag to the Girl Scout and Brownie troops.
