News and Views Of the West Slope Community; — Families Merchants Manse Visitors Luncheon Hostess Ice Box Pudding Hold Picnic Reverend and Mrs. H. A. Armi tage and daughter Beverly re turned to their home on S. W. Brentwood Avenue on Tuesday, July 8, from an interesting and delightful month long trip through the east and Canada. Soon after their return, Rever end A. K. Stewart, secretary of the Board of American Missions, which is helping to finance the building of the Valley Community United Presbyterian Church, Mrs. C. Ronald Mott was hos tess at a lovely luncheon Sunday afternoon, July 20, at her home on S. W. McChesney Road. Miss Mildred Walen, supervisor of the Obstetrics Department of the Ev erett General hospital. Everett, Washington, was the honored guest. This was the first time in 10 years that Miss Walen had re turned to Oregon. She is a grad uate of Emanuel Hospital and served on the staff at the hos pital before going to Everett. A large number of members and their guests was present. Miss Angie Harrington was in charge of the arrangements.
