Such food that may cmell and appear all right may carry enough poison to be deadly while food that is com pletely spoiled can be rendered harmless by toiling. Botulinus poisoning is caused by a germ fairly common in Ore gon soils. Professor Copson ex plains. While it rarely appears when reasonable care is used in canning, it is so deadly that it is not safe to take chances at any time.
