T he doctor will prescribe a highly n u tritio u s diet to prom ote healing, adjusting the diet as the ulcer g ets better. The diet m u st be bland. Small, frequent feed­ ings are best. Drugs are som e­ tim es used to help neutralize th e g astric acidity, b u t ju st as im p o rtan t as diet and d rugs Is th e p a tie n t’s need for physical and em otional rest. T he m ost dificult p art of ul­ cer th era p y is the prevention of recurrences. Doctors hope for the discovery of in effective medical m ethod.
