Mrs. W . H. B unney o f Tigard, president o f the W estern F edera tion o f W om en 's clubs fo r six years, was in trodu ced as an honor guest. T his federation com prises 11 states and A laska, with 18,000 clubs and 90,000 m em bers. A m usical program was pre sented by the T ig a rd high school, including a piano num ber, "D ance o f the F ireflies," by C arolyn Ole- man'; vocal solos by Joy Grimsted, accom pan ied by Miss O lem an; baritone num bers by John G od fre y ; solo by N an cy F oord, ac com pan ied by M arlene Crouse, and a hum orous reading w ith piano accom p an im en t by M arlyn Joh n son. It was announced that the Third D istrict con vention w ould be held in O sw ego W ednesday, Mrs. Stret ch er, president, and Mrs. Clem E slinger, cou n ty treasurer, being nam ed as delegates to attend. T hey are starting to pre pare fo r a C hristm as program . This will be the second year for this group. Last year a ch or us o f 54 put on C hristm as and Easter program s. All people o f this com m unity and surrounding areas w h o like to sing are urged to com e and try it. M onday evening is just the starting night. The regular date for p ractice will be decided on by the grou p m em bers. The chorus is m ade up o f both men and w om en from high school age up. T here is a special need fo r m ore sopranos and m ore male voices. Mrs. A. W . B éguin is the chair man in ch arge o f publicity for the chorus.
