Why Gamble with the
8 PUD Risks?
In Washington State, voters are learning to their
sorrow what a big gamble a PUD promotion is. And
they’re learning what a dangerous gamble it is. After
all, how can a county "save" money if it has to pour
out thousands upon thousands for new 2-mill PUD
taxes, for interest on heavy bond issues, fees for
lawyers, engineers, court costs, etc., etc.? And, the
record shows, that the only two PI Ds connected up
to Bonneville Dam, and selling power at rates approved
hv the Bonneville Administrator, charge the average
customer MORE than PGE charges! Why should
this county gamble in that kind of a game?

facts are: Portland General Electric Company has
been the largest distributor of power generated by the
mighty $60,(XX),OCX) federal dam!
And—PGE distributes Bonneville power to the
average family at a loner price than PUDs charge for
Bonneville power.
We distribute Bonneville power at louer rates—
and we do it without a red penny of subsidy from
the taxpayers.
