get excited or alarmed. A big zoo of
stuffed animals, is going to be an ad
ditional study in the second grade.

ability, you will find some creatures
with whom even you do not boaet an
acquaintance.
Therefore, .visit the
Beaverton zoo sometime in the near
future.
The pupils were sorry to
hear- that Delores Berg is ill with the
measles. They wish her a speedy
recovery.
Monday Mr. Kraus, Washington
County School Superintendent, deliv
ered 50 new library books to the
grade school. The books are beauti
fully illustrated and will give some
children many a happy hour.
Mr. Bushnell plans to organize a
grade Bchool band and he hopes to
make it one o f the largest in the
county. The school busses will be
held every Thursday afternoon from
3 o’clock to 4 o’clock in order to per
mit everyone to Join either the band
or some club.
The fire squad has been organized
with Glen Jones as the chief, Herbert
Harrison, Gale Emmons, and Donald
Wegner captains. Other members of
the firesquad are James Lawlor, Ken
neth Medlock, Anton Bozich, Wood
ford Hohnstein, Cecil Yocum, Ronald
Knepper, William
Graham,
Bobby
Shively, Jack See and David McMinn.
The purpose o f the squad is to keep
the school ground» clean, man the
hoses and see that the fire apparatus
Is ready at all times, and to take an
active part in fire drills.
