The Drain Nonp&riel, in a very ably written article about the resources, clim ate and future possibilities o f Oregon has this to say: Oregon is the land o f opportunity. The future looks large here. Washed by the waters o f the World’ s greatest ocean, Oregon lies next door to the Orient, whose awakening millions must hate our products. On the shores o f this western sea, history is making. Thu, pulse o f development beats strong add the assurance o f tomorrow is golden. Opportunities await til ose who w ill siete them. Tins Northwest country beckons to all who would seek Am erica’s best and richest region. Those who know O regon's infinite va riety in scenery and climate would not live elsewhere. More and more ate feelin g tile Spell o f this rose-embower ed state. A t a meeting o f the electors o f the Donald school district held last Satur day afternoon it was voted that the district should build a new school bulki ng to cost $4000. This is a step in the right direction and the citizens o f that district are to be commended for their prompt action. Adequate school facilities is one o f the most important factors in drawing goods citixens to a community, and the people w ill eventually find that their action w ill be more than repaid by the rapid upbuilding o f the section in which they reside and the enhanced property values. v Contract Let for New Building. On Tuesday evening the bids for the Work o f constructing the new building to be erected by Mishler & Gribble and the Aurora band were considered and the contract was awarded to F. E. Dodge, o f Canby, for $600. The bids were for the work only as the builders furnish all material. The work will start as soon as the material can be put on the ground, thus Aurora w ill soon have a new store and a hall that will be a credit to any town. The budd ing will be 50x100 and arrangements have been made to build the stage out side o f the building so as to give suffi cient floor space in the hall for all pur poses. i PubBc and High Schools. A t a meeting o f the committee on ar rangements o f the Marion County Ath letic association, held at Woodburn on March 11, the following arrangements were made: The annual field meet wdl be held at Woodburn some time during the month o f June.
