L., passed through to Baker City this afternoon. Mr. Carter says that all saloons and gambling games in Greenhorn were closed last Suudy iu obedience to Sheiiff 'Brown's orders. The I. X. L., he says, is putting up a new abaft house preparatory to renewing sinking operations. The raise from the 200 foot has broken through to the surface, and sinking will bw aarried on at this pniut. Mahoney returned today from California, where he has been since last November. He was called to San Fraud goo last fall on aooount of the death of his sister, Mrs. G. H. Whltworth.
