Ho will remain thoro thrco or four weeks nud thou go to Ohio. His purpoao in takiug tho eastoru trip is to interest capital in tho Vaukoo Girl, ono of tho most inter esting mining propositions in eastron Oregon, becauso of tho unusual uharatcter of the oro, which has fto quoutly boon commoutod on aud described in The Minor. Ho is carrying with him 100 pounds of tho black metallic lookiug substance, prououucod pyrites of arsonic, with which tho white por phyry and quartz is filled. This stuff carries from lifty to ono hundred ouueos of gold. Mr. Poarsou has had some corres pondence with Ohio pouplo in regard to this proporty aud thinks that a doal will bo consummated without doubt during tho next few weeks. That Rich Briggs Strike. Samuel Howdon, speaking of tho recent rich strike in southern Orogon, said to tho Spokesman Ro viow: "One of tho finest sights that could possibly come under the notice of a mining man was a pailful of quart'. 1 saw from tho famous Hrlggs strike, it was made up of pieces of -white, rose aud gray quartz from tho si'.o of a waluut to slabs as largo as a miller's hand, every pieco being rion in bright, natlvo gold. Tho placo whero the original discovery was mado has boou oponoci tu a point whoro the rich quartz narrows to a distinct vein, two inches wide, of the samo charaotor of high grado oro as that found in the pookot, aud it is the judgment of mon who have mined iu quartz that tho find will bo de veloped into a permanent mine of unusual richness. Case, camo i today from tho Climax, whoro they wero making a preliminary exumina tion of tho proporty, with a viow to beginning extousivo operations.
